OXFORD CITY COURT - Tuesday.
Trespassing in Standing Grass.- Walter Hunt, Henry Pratley, and Edward Pratley, boys of Jericho, were summoned for trespassing in growing grass, property of Mr. Joseph Round, on the 15th inst.- Henry Pratley pleaded guilty and Walter Hunt and Edward Pratley not guilty.- P.C. Andrews said about seven o'clock in the morning he saw defendants get over the rails at the street and of the meadow, and go into the field amongst the growing grass. He was sure defendants were the boys, and they did not deny it at the time.- Mrs. Hunt said her son told her that he was only on the fence.- Mrs. Pratley also said that her son Edward told her that he was on the fence and Henry that he went into the field.- Hunt and Edward Pratley were fined 1s. and 3s.6d. costs, while Henry Pratley was only fined 1s. |

LOCAL.
The funeral of the late Mr. Richard Pratley, of 10, Cranham-terrace, took place at St. Sepulchre's Cemetery on Saturday afternnon. The deceased, who had been ill since lasat autumn, was well known in Oxford musical circles, being for many years a member of various choirs, including St. Giles', St. John's College and New College, also of Dr. Stainer's Orpheus Glee Union. He was for upwards of 20 years house carpenter at the Infirmary. He was followed to his last resting place by his widow, daughters, son-in-law and niece, and other friends were present at the cemetery.
