BLACK BOURTON.
sad death of a woman.
An inquest was held here on Monday, by F. Westell, Esq., Coroner, respecting the death of Emily Ann Pratley, wife of a groom, who died soon after giving birth to a child. It appeared form the evidence of Susannah Gardner, that she attended deceased in her confinement, which took place at 4-30 on Saturday morning. Finding all was not satisfactory, she sent for Mr. Prall, but the patient died at 6-40, before the doctor arrived.
Sarah Adams, of Black Bourton, corroborated a part of the former witness's evidence.
Mr. Prall stated that he arrived at 7-30, and found the woman dead. He had examined the body and found nothing remarkable. From the evidence he should say she died form hemorrhage after confinement.
A verdict in accordance with the evidence was returned. |
