BURFORD.
BAMPTON WEST PETTY SESSIONS.
Saturday, april 4th.
Before Lord de Mauley (Chariman) and W.H. Fox, Esq.
Game Trespass.- Henry Lock, Ford Wells, mason, was charged with committing a game trespass on land in the parish of Asthall, on March 27th. Albert Woodward said he was game keeper to Mr. Byass, who has the right of shooting over the land at Asthall, occupied by Mr. Timms. On the 27th March about half-past six p.m. he saw the defendant going along the field by Standridge Cover. He stooped down and set a wire near a rabbit run. Asked him if he was aware there was no road there, he said he didn't care whether there was or not; he made use of very bad language. Witness charged the defendant with setting the wire, which he denied doing. Frank Pratley, under game keeper, corroborated the evidence. Convicted and fined 15s. including costs. |
