An appeal to the charitable and humane is made in an adjoining column, on behalf of an honest and industrious man, named Robert Pratley, of Crawley, near Witney, who has suffered a severe loss by the death of 5 horses (his whole team) I one day. The unfortunate man has been in the habit of drawing wood for persons in the neighbourhood of the Forest of Wychwood, and has a wife and six young children dependent on his exertions for their support; which he is now unable to do without the assistance of a few friends, to enable him to replace his team of horses. Several gentlemen in the neighbourhood, who know the man, and the circumstances under which his loss was occasioned, have commenced a subscription, which we hope will be increased, until enough has been raised to repair his loss. |

TO A GENEROUS PUBLIC.
The assistance of the benevolent and charitable is humbly requested in behalf of robert pratley, of White Oak Green, in the hamlet of Crawley, near Witney, who has lately sustained a most severe loss, by the death of five horses in one day, constituting his whole Team. By this misfortune (which was purely accidental) he is suddenly deprived of the means by which he has hitherto been enabled with honest industry to support himself and a large family, in comparative respectability.
Any donation, however small, for the purpose of assisting him to repair his severe loss, will therefore be most thankfully received.
