Town Hall, Witney.- Petty Sessions, Thursday.

(Present Walter Strickland, Esq., Leonard Pickering, Esq., and the Rev. Dacres Adams)

Assault.- Nicholas Smith, Lewis Clements, John Pratley, and Charles Davis, four lads, were brought up in custody, charged with assaulting Jesse Buckingham. They were reprimanded by the Bench, and the case was dismissed, with a caution not to appear before the bench again.

JUSTICE ROOM, January 25th, 1872.

Present-W. E. Taunton, Esq., and the Revs. F. M. Cunningham and R. L. Baker.

Game.-John Pratley, alias John Claridge, was charge with killing one partridge, at Northleigh, on the 8th of January, without having a game licence. Fined £5, and costs 15/6. Committed for 6 weeks' imprisonment with hard labour in default of payment.

Assault.-The same defendant was charged with assaulting George Beddin, at the same time and place. Fined, including costs, £2 13/6. Committed for a further period of 1 calendar month's imprisonment with hard labour in default of payment. Mr. Lee appeared for defendant in this and the preceding case.
