1805 PRATLEY Job Probate of the Will of Job Pratley    
Full Will:

In the Name of God Amen I Job Pratley of Bond Street in the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square in the county of Middlex[sic] Victualler being sick in body but of sound Mind Memory and Understanding do make and publish this my last Will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first I desire my body to be buried near the body of my Wifes Mother Mary Crafts in Barking in Essex I Give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Pratley my Gold Watch and to each of my Sons George Pratley and Thomas Pratley each my metal Watches I also give and bequeath unto Benjamin Turtle of Duke Street Manchester Square in the parish of Saint Marylebone in the County of Middlesex Butcher and Richard Sharp of Bird Street in the parish of Saint George aforesaid Carpenter my Executors herein named the sum of Five pounds each for a Ring and the trouble they may have in the execution of this my Will I also give and bequeath unto John Crafts of Eastham in the County of Essex the sum of Five Guineas for a Mourning I also give and bequeath unto my dear Wife Mary Pratley Benjamin Turtle and Richard Sharp their Executors administrators and Assigns upon this special Trust and confidence nevertheless that is to say upon this trust that they my said Trustees or the Survivors or Survivor of them or the Executors or Admors of such Survivors do and shall receive the Interest and Dividends thereof from time to time as the same shall become due and payable and pay apply and dispose of the same in equal shares or a sufficient part thereof for and towards the support maintenance and education or placing our of my said two Sons George and Thomas Pratley and my said Daughter Mary Pratley until they shall severally attain the age of twenty one years and when and as my said children shall severally attain their said ages of twenty one years In trust to pay assign or transfer the same with the Interest Dividends and produce thereof as shall not have been applied as aforesaid or for putting them out apprentice pursuant to the power hereinafter given equally unto and amongst my said children when and as they shall respectively attain their ages of twenty one years as aforesaid but in case any or either my said children shall die under age without Issue then In trust to pay (for in case they die with Issue I direct their respective shares to be paid to such Issue, the share of such of them so dying unto the Survivors or Survivor of them the same to be paid at the time appointed for the payment of their original share but in case all my said children shall happen to die without Issue as aforesaid then in trust to pay the Interest and dividends thereof to my said dear Wife during her natural life unless she should marry again and in that case only until the Solemnisation of such her Marriage and from and after her decease in case she shall not have Married again but not otherwise In trust to pay assign and transfer the same unto such person as she shall be deed or Will appoint but in case she shall marry again or not having married shall not make such appointment as aforesaid In trust to pay assign and transfer for the same to such of my next of kin as shall be then living and I do empower my said trustees to apply the respective part or share of any of my said children of and in the said Three hundred pounds five per cent annuities for putting any or either of them out apprentice any thing therein contained to the Contrary I also give and bequeath all my household Furniture plate apparel and other Chattels Effects and Personal Estate not hereinbefore disposed of of what nature or kind soever subject to the payment of my Debts and Funeral and testamentary Expences to be paid thereout unto the said Richard Sharp and Benjamin Turtle To hold to them their Executors Admors and Assigns upon trust that they or the Survivor of them his Executors or Admors do and shall permit and suffer my said Dear Wife Mary Pratley upon her giving Sufficient Personal Security to them not to sell or dispose of the same to have the use of them during her natural life in case she shall not marry but in case she Marries again then only until the Solimnization of such her Marriage and in case shall not marry again then upon trust to sell the same and out of the produce to pay my said Wife Twenty pounds and Invest the Residue thereof in Government Funds and to pay and apply the principal Dividends hereinbefore directed as to the said sum of Three hundred pounds Five per cent Annuities but if my said Wife shall not marry again then the said household Furniture plate Apparel and other Chattels effects and Personal Estate not hereinbefore disposed of of what nature or kind soever to go and belong to such person as she shall bequeath the same by her will and lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said Richard Sharp and Benjamin Turtle Executors of this my Will hereby revoking and making void all and all manner of former and other Will and Wills at anytime by me heretofore made and do declare this only to be my last Will and testament In witness whereof I have at the bottom of the two first sheets of his my Will (the whole whereof is conformed in three sheets of paper) subscribed my name and to this third and last sheet my hand and seal the first day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six - Job Pratley - Signed Sealed Declared and Published by the above named Testator Job Pratley as and for his last Will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto - Wm Dixon - of Bond Street - Hors Heny Lockyer - Clerk to Mr Archdeacon of Duke Street Manchester Square

On the fifteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five administration (with the Will annexed) of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of Job Pratley formerly of Bond Street in the parish of Saint George Hanover Square in the County of Middlesex but late of Long Lane in the parish of Saint Mary Magdalen Bermondsey in the County of Surry[sic] deceased was granted to Mary Pratley Widow the Relict of the said deceased and the Residuary Legatee during her Widowhood named in the Said Will having been first sworn duly to administer

Richard Sharp one of the Exers and one the Residuary Legatees dying without taking upon his the probate and Execution of the said Will and Benjamin Turtle the surviving Exor and surviving Residuary Legatee having first renounced.
