Full Will:

This is the last Will and Testament dated the seventh day of December one thousand eight hundred and seventy four of me George Prattley of the City of Manchester Merchant I appoint my brother in law William Kilvert of Hulme in the said City Pork Butcher and David McChlery of York Street in the same City Merchant Trustees and Executors of this my Will I bequeath to my Wife Eliza Prattley the sum of Fifty pounds to be paid to her within one calendar month after my decease I give to my Wife during her life the use and enjoyment of all my books pictures prints plate linen china household furniture and household effects And I direct that after her decease the same shall fall into and form part of my residuary estate I give all the residue of my estate and effects both real and personal (except estates rested in me upon trusts or by way of mortgage) unto the said William Kilvert and David McChlery their heirs executors or administrators respectively upon the trusts and with and subject to the powers and provisions hereinafter declared concerning the same (that is to say) Upon trust to allow such sum or sums of money as may be advanced by me to any son or sons of mine to remain on his or their promissory note or notes IOU's or other security as my Trustees shall think fit but to bear interest during my Wife's life at the rate of Five pounds per centum per annum and subject thereto I direct that the said William Kilvert and David McChlery or the survivor of them or the executors or administrators of such survivor or other the Trustees or Trustee for the time being of this my Will (hereinafter called my Trustees or Trustee) shall sell get in and convert into money my real estate and residuary personal estate or such part thereof as shall not consist of money and shall out of the monies to arise from such sale and conversion and out of my ready money pay my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts and the legacy hereby bequeathed and shall invest the residue of the said monies in their or his names or name in the purchase of real estate or in or upon any of the public stocks or funds or securities of the United Kingdom or on real or leasehold securities in England or Wales or on the mortgage bonds or debentures or in the purchase of the stock or shares of any incorporated Railway Banking or other joint Stock Company or Corporation or on the notes or other society or acknowledgement of any Building Society or the Trustees or directors of any Building Society with full power and authority at any time and form time to time in their or his absolute discretion to sell any real estate or estates so as to be purchased as aforesaid and to vary any investment or investments for the time being for any other or others of the description aforesaid and shall stand possessed of the said residuary trust monies and the investments for the time being representing the same (thereinafter called the residuary trust funds) In trust to pay or apply the income thereof or so much thereof as my Trustees or Trustee shall think proper and necessary (including the interest on the said note or notes IOU's or other security so to be given to my Trustees or Trustee as aforesaid) to or for the benefit of my wife for and during her life for her own sole and separate use and benefit independent of any husband with whom she may intermarry and without power of anticipation And I direct my Trustees or Trustee to accumulate any income unpaid or unapplied during the lifetime of my said wife and at her death the same shall form part of my residuary trust estate and after the death of my said wife as to both capital and accumulated income In trust for my children or any child who being sons or a son shall attain the age of twenty one years or being daughters or a daughter shall attain that age or marry to be divided as between them in equal shares and if there shall be only one child the whole to be in trust for that one child And I declare that such advance or advances as may be secured by the note or notes IOU's or other security of my said son or sons as aforesaid shall be taken as part or parts of their respective share or shares on the distribution of my said trust estate Provided always and I hereby declare that my Trustees or Trustee shall retain the share or shares to which any daughter or daughters of me shall become entitled of and in the residuary trust funds under this my Will Upon the trusts following (that is to say ) upon trust to pay the income of the share of each such daughter to the same daughter during her life and so and if and while she shall be under converture the same shall be for her sole and separate use and she shall not have power to dispose of the same in the way of anticipation but with power nevertheless for my same daughter at any time whenever she shall be convert or sole to appoint by deed or will that after her decease the whole or any part of such income shall be paid to any husband of her who may survive her during his life for any less period and from and after the decease of such daughter and subject to any appointment which may be made to her husband as aforesaid In trust for all or such one or more exclusively of the other or others of the children and remoter issue of such daughter (such remoter issue being born in her lifetime) at such ages or times age or time in such shares (if more than one) and in such manner as she my same daughter by any deed or deeds with or without power or revocation and new appointment or by her will or any Codicil thereto and whether she shall be under converture or not shall appoint and in default of such appointment and so far as any such appointment shall not extend In trust for the children of my same daughter who being male shall attain the age of twenty one years or being female shall attain that age or marry in equal shares and if there shall be only one such child the whole to be in trust for that one child But so nevertheless that no child who or any of whose issue shall take a share under any such appointment as aforesaid shall take any part of the trust funds remaining unappropriated without bringing the share appointed to him or her or to his or her issue into hotchpot and accounting for the same accordingly unless my daughter making such appointment as aforesaid shall thereby direct the contrary and in case there shall be no child of such daughter who being a male shall attain the age of Twenty one years or being female shall attain that age or marry then In trust for my other children who being male shall attain the age of twenty one years or being female shall attain that age or marry in equal shares and so that the share or shares accruing to each or any daughter of me under this trust shall be subject to the trusts hereby declared concerning the original share of the same daughter under this my Will Provided always and I hereby declare that if any child of me shall die in my lifetime or in the lifetime of my Wife leaving a child or children the child or children of him or her so dying as aforesaid who being male shall attain the age of Twenty one years or being female shall attain that age or marry shall take (and if more than one equally between them) the share to which his her or their parent would have been entitled of and in the residuary trust funds if such parent had survived me and my Wife and attained the age of Twenty one years including any share or shares which would have accrued to such parent under the trusts and provisions in that behalf hereinbefore contained And I declare that my trustees or trustee may apply the whole or such part as they or he shall think fit of the income of the share to the principal or income whereof any minor would for the time being be entitled in possession under this my Will if he or she were of full age for or towards his or her maintenance and education with liberty to pay the same to the guardian or any of the guardians of such minor for the purpose aforesaid without seeing to the application thereof and my trustees or trustee may exercise this power without any regard to the ability of the father of any such minor to pay for or contribute towards his or her maintenance and education And I declare that my trustees or trustee shall invest the surplus (if any) of such income and the resulting income thereof so as to accumulate at compound interest to the intent that such accumulations shall be whereof I the said George Prattley have to each of the sheet of this my Will contained on five sheets of paper set my hand the day and year aforesaid

This is a Codicil to the last Will and Testament of me George Prattley of Stretford New Road Old Trafford Manchester in the County of Lancaster Gentleman formerly Merchant which Will bears date the Seventh day of December One thousand eight hundred and seventy four Whereas by my said Will I have directed that the residue of the moneys to arise from the sale and conversion of my real and personal estate and from any accumulation of income unpaid or unapplied during the lifetime of my Wife shall be divided in equal shares between my children who being sons or a son shall attain the age of Twenty one years or being daughters or a daughter shall attain that age or marry And whereas since the making of my said Will I have advanced and paid various sums of money to or for the benefit of my son George Anthony Now I declare that the sum of Three hundred and fifty pounds part of the money so as aforesaid paid to or for the benefit of my said son George Anthony shall be taken by him in part satisfaction of his share under my said Will and accordingly that the residue of the moneys to arise from the sale of my real and personal estate shall be divided between the children among whom the same is directed to be divided by my said Will in such manner that the share of my said son George Anthony shall be less in amount than the shares of the other children by the sum of Three hundred and fifty pounds Ands in all other respects I confirm my said Will

This is a Codicil to the last Will and testament of me George Prattley of Stratford near the City of Manchester and of Southport in the County of Lancaster Pawnbroker formerly of the City of Manchester Merchant which Will bears date the Seventh day of December One thousand eight hundred and seventy four

Whereas by my said Will I have appointed William Kilvert therein described of Hulme in the City of Manchester Pork Butcher but now of Ashton upon Mersey in the County of Chester out of business to be one of the Trustees and Executors thereof Now I hereby revoke the appointment of the said William Kilvert as such Trustee and Executor and in his place or stead appoint my son Thomas Prattley of Lincoln in the County of Lincoln Pawnbroker Trustee and Executor along with David McChlery the other Trustee and Executor therein named And in all respects I confirm my said Will and Codicil thereto being date the Twentieth day of September one thousand eighty hundred and eighty two In witness whereof the said George Prattley have hereunto set my hand this nineteenth day of March one thousand eight hundred and eighty five

At Liverpool on the 10th July Administration with the Will and two Codicils annexed of the personal estate of George Prattley late of Bank Square Southport in the County of Lancaster deceased who died on the 8th April 1893 at Bank Square aforesaid was granted to Arthur William Prattley one of the natural and lawful children of the said deceased and as such having attained the age of 21 years one of the Residuary Legatees substituted in the said Will he having first sworn David McChlery the executor and Residuary Legatee in trust named in the said Will having renounced the probate execution of the said Will and Codicils and Thomas Prattley the Son the Executor and Residuary Legatee in trust named in the second Codicil and Eliza Prattley the wife of the testator the Residuary Legatee for life named in the said Will having both died in the lifetime of the said Testator
