TWO KILLED IN CRASH IN FOG

Motor-cycles Collide near Northleach

Pillion Riders' Escape

George Thomas Pratley, a farmer, of the Manor Farm, Coln St. Denys, died on Wednesday from injuries he received in a motor-cycle crash in a fog near Northleach the previous night.

George Thomas Greenwood, a mason, of Chedworth, who was riding a motor-cycle with Pratley came into collision, was taken to Northleach Infirmary and died on Thursday.

The crash occurred on Tuesday about 5.20 p.m. on the Cirencester-road, between Hangman's Stone and Stowell Park corner.

Pratley, who farmed with his brother, was travelling with a pillion passenger towards Hangman's Stone, and Greenwood was motor-cycling home form work at Salperton.

He had with him on the pillion Louis Holland.

Both drivers were badly hurt about their heads when the machines collided. The pillion passengers escaped.

Mr. H.T. Hughes, of Haselton, came by directly after the accident occurred, and conveyed Greenwood to the Infirmary at Northleach.

Pratley was also taken there, but died at 8.30 on Wednesday.

He was 31 years of age, married; and had one child.

Greenwood who had a fracture of the base of the skull, and a fracture of the left clavicle, was 46 years of age, and a married man with six children.
