WITNEY.
JUSTICE ROOM, September 21.
Present: Rev. W.S. Bricknell and C, Sartoris, Esq.
Theft.- George Williams, described as of "no settled place of abode," was charged with stealing an earring the property of Lucy Pratley, of Ramsden, at Witney on the 11th of September. It appeared the earring was taken from the ear of the prosecutrix during a scuffle at the Angel Inn on Feast Monday. Sentenced to 7 days' hard labour. The same defendant was also charged with stealing at the same time and place a silver watch from the person of Alfred Holifield, of Finstock. Adjourned for a fortnight. |
