FARINGDON, June 29.

We feel great pleasure in stating that our inhabitants did everything in their power to give elette to the celebration of the coronation of our most gracious Queen. A very excellent dinner was provided for the occasion, by Mr. Pratley, the landlord of the Bell Inn, at which about 100 persons were present, for whose accommodation a very handsome marquee was erected by our worthy townsman, Mr. Sellwood, and elegantly decorated with evergreens. After the usual patriotic toasts had been given, several excellent songs were sung by the amateurs present. In the evening, ale and cake were administered to the poor in our Market place. A band was provided, which played, under the excellent management of Mr. Wood, many appropriate tunes, and the day passed off with the greatest hilarity. The inmates of our Union Workhouse, we are happy to state, did not escape the notice of our worthy Board of Guardians; they were regaled with a good store of roast beef and plum pudding, and strong beer form that renowned tap called "Pratley's Best," under the superintendence of our much-respected governor, Mr. Nicholls; and it gives us great pleasure to add that every inmate retired to his chamber perfectly satisfied, and what is more becoming to the excellent management of that establishment, the children concluded the ceremony in a manner that would have given credit to many of our first choirs in the country. The fire-works of Mr. James Walker and the illuminations throughout the town were exceedingly effective.
