CHIPPING NORTON.
CHADLINGTON DIVISION PETTY SESSIONS.
Before Capt. Waller (chairman), C. Samuda and A.A. Webb, Esqs.
Non-attendant at School.- Charles Pratley, of Chadlington, was summoned to appear on account of the insufficient number of attendances at school made by his son, Charles Pratley.- The defendant was represented by his wife, and Mr. T. Greenshields, school attendance officer, detailed the circumstances, and requested that an order might be made by the Bench for the child to attend school. It appeared that from the 16th of March to the 29th of May, the mixed school had been open 94 times, out of which the boy had made 49 attendances. Previous to that, in the infants' school, from October 2nd to February 28th, out of 196 possible attendances, he had made 49 only.- Mrs. Pratley said her son was not, and had not been fit to attend school, and she was advised by the Bench that if such was the case she should get a doctor's certificate.- The order was granted. |
