Full Will: |
I, John Pratley gardener and florist now residing at Chase Woods Nursery in the parish of Crawley in the County of Oxfordshire hereby revoke all Wills heretofore made by me and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament Whereof I appoint John Towersey Green Schoolmaster of the Parish of Hailey in the County of Oxfordshire and John Harris farmer of the Parish of Hailey in the County of Oxfordshire to be my Executors I direct my Executors to pay all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses after that has been done I give and bequeath to my Wife Charlotte Pratley now residing at Chase Woods Nursery in the Parish of Crawley in the County of Oxfordshire all my household goods for her sole use and benefit I also give and bequeath to my Wife Charlotte Pratley for her use and benefit for her life only all the Cottage property I now hold or may acquire whether property or properties The properties I now hold which are for her use and benefit for life only are situate at Delly Hill in the Parish of Hailey in the County of Oxfordshire and consist of Three Cottages with appurtenances thereto and let to James Buckingham Stonemason, Lewis Jennings Stonemason, and Thomas Bolton retired labourer After my Wife Charlotte Pratley is dead I direct my Executors to sell the above Cottages and divide the proceeds of the sale equally among my Three Daughters Mary Ann Pratley Sarah Jane Pratley and Lucy Emily Pratley should either or all of my Daughters marry in the event of their decease their lawful children to take equally their mothers respective shares Should either of my Daughters predecease one another without marrying the surviving Daughter or Daughters are to share equally Should only one survive and there being no lawful issue form either of the other Daughters she is to have possession of the aforesaid Cottages which need not be sold I also give and bequeath To my Wife Charlotte Pratley all monies I possess or what is due to me or standing to my Credit at all banking accounts with the exception of Six pounds which I direct my Executors to pay after my death as follows To my Daughter Mary Ann Pratley Two pounds To my Daughter Sarah Jane Pratley Two pounds To my Daughter Lucy Emily Pratley Two pounds Should my Wife Charlotte Pratley remarry I direct my Executors to take immediate possession of the above property and proceed with the sale and to give each of my Daughters their respective shares as in the case of my Wife's death Witness my hand this 25th day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and ninety six.
