LEAFIELD
Entertainment.- an interesting entertainment was held in the Chapel schoolroom on the 22nd inst.., the Rev. Newton Vanstone occupying the chair. The most attractive feature of the entertainment was the rendering of a long dialogue entitled "The sale of the children." The auctioneer (R. Ferryman) expatiated upon the merits of sample lot, numbering about 30 children, who had been arranged upon the platform, and was followed by interesting bids from "Fashion" (Annie Shayler), "Sceptism" (W. Pratley), "Crime" (T. Holloway), "Intemperance" (A. Benfield], "Education" (M.A. Wiggins) and "Religion" (H. Pratley), to the latter of whom the lot was knocked down. |

LEAFIELD.
ENTERTAINMENT
A village entertainment was given in the Chapel schoolroom on Friday, the 16th inst.
The Rev. Newton Vanstone presiding said that his desire was to provide amusement and pleasure for the villagers which was consistent with the Gospel, and he believe the programme of the evening would carry out his desire.

Drunk and Disorderly.- Henry Pratley, of Leafield, was charged with being drunk and disorderly at Leafield, on 13th October. Defendant pleaded guilty and was fined 5s. |
