LEAFIELD.
DEATH FROM HEART DISEASE.
An inquest was held at the "Old George," by F. Westell, Esq., on the 17th inst., on the body of Charlotte Pratley, the wife of Richard Pratley, of this village, who was found dead in her bed on Wednesday the 16th inst. The evidence of the deceased's husband went to show that deceased was 64, she was well up till Tuesday night, with exception of bad breathing. At 4 o'clock Wednesday morning witness found that deceased was dead in bed. Witness called his son, who fetched a neighbour, and the doctor was sent for. Leonard Pratley son of the deceased, deposed to his mother being a usual on Tuesday night, but when called by his father at 4 a.m. on Wednesday he found her dead in bed. The medical testimony went to prove that death was due to heart disease, and the jury returned a verdict to that effect. |
