Without reserve, at the Red Horse Inn, Shipton, on Friday next, February the 18th, at Eleven o'clock, About 100 capital Maiden OAK TIMBER TREES, now standing in the Fifield Heath, and 140 good ASH TREES, now standing at Shipton; also 8000 feet of very superior ELM BOARDS, in different lots.
Credit will be given till the 7th of July next, on paying a deposit of 20l. per cent. Immediately after the sale, and giving proper security for the remainder.
The timber is of large dimensions and good quality, and will be found on inspection worthy of notice.

29/08/1864 The Will of Jonathan Pratley late of the parish of Hailey in the County of Oxford deceased who died 07/07/1864 at Hailey aforesaid was proved at Oxford by the oath of William Pratley of Reading in the County of Berkshire draper the Son one of the Executors. Effects under £450. |

This is the last Will and Testament of me Jonathan Pratley of the Parish of Hailey in the County of Oxon made this Twenty third day of June one thousand eight hundred and sixty four First I will and direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses shall be fully paid out of my effects Secondly I give devise and bequeath unto my Wife Mary Pratley All those my Seventeen messuages cottages or tenements gardens and premises in Milton in the Parish of Shipton-under-Wychwood called Jonathan's Square in the said County of Oxford Also all those four messuages cottages or tenements gardens and premises belonging to me in Shipton-under-Wychwood aforesaid And also all those my five cottages messuages or tenements gardens and premises in Hailey aforesaid to be held be her for ther term of her natural life And at her decease I will and direct that all the above property be held and enjoyed by my Son William Pratley (Son by my present Wife Mary) or in case of his death by his lawful issue then living, or if he have died without issue and leaves no Widow behind then all this property is to be disposed of and the proceeds equally divided among my surviving children by the first Wife or if if the said William Pratley should leave a Widow and no children then his Widow should have the use of the above property situate in Hailey, Milton and Shipton aforesaid for her natural life and at her decease all the houses are to be sold and the proceeds equally divided among my surviving Sons and Daughters or amongst their children who survive them I also give devise and bequeath unto my said Wife Mary Pratley for and during the term of her natural life All my household goods and furniture stock in trade and ready money and all my personal estate of which I may die seized with this proviso that she pay within six months after my decease the following legacies to my children (my elder Son George is not mentioned to receive a legacy in consideration of advances money made to him during my life) namely, Fourteen pounds apiece to Richard Pratley, John Pratley, Arthur Pratley, and Charles Pratley and my Daughter Harriet Cook in Ohio, North America, and Fourteen pounds to be equally divided among the three children of my deceased Daughter Hannah Ennis in Ohio, North America Lastly I do hereby appoint my said Wife Executrix and my younger Son William Pratley Executor of this my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have to this my Will set my hand this 23rd day of June eighteen hundred and sixty four - Jonathan Pratley - Signed published and declared by the said Testator Jonathan Pratley as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who in the presence of us, at his request, and in the presence of each other at the same time have hereunto subscribed our hands as Witnesses - Samuel Humphries - William Hudson -
In her Majesty's Court of Probate - The District Registry at Oxford - In the Goods of Jonathan Pratley deceased - I Samuel Humphries of Hailey in the County of Oxford, Innkeeper, make Oath and say that I am one of the subscribing Witnesses to the last Will and Testament of the said Jonathan Pratley late of the Parish of Hailey in the County of Oxford , deceased, the said Will being now hereunto annexed bearing date the Twenty third day of June one thousand eight hundred and sixty four and that the said Testator executed the said Will on the day of the date thereof by signing his name at the foot or end thereof as the same now appears thereon in the presence of me and of William Hudson of Hailey aforesaid, Innkeeper, the other subscribing Witness thereto both of us being present at the same time and we thereupon attested and subscribed the said Will in the presence of the said Testator and of each other - Samuel Humphries - Sworn at Witney in the County of Oxford on the Twenty second day of August 1864, Before me - Fred: Westell - A Commissioner to administer Oaths in Chancery in England -
On the Twenty ninth day of August 1864, the Will of Jonathan Pratley late of the Parish of Hailey in the County of Oxford, deceased, who died on the Seventh day of July 1864, at Hailey aforesaid, was proved in the District Registry attached to Her Majesty's Court of Probate at Oxford, by the Oath of William Pratley of Reading in the County of Berks, Draper, Son of the Deceased, one of the Executors therein named he having been first sworn duly to administer:
Power being reserved of making a like Grant to Mary Pratley, Widow, Relict of the Deceased, the other Executor named in the said Will
